Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of an online game-based learning media to increase vocabulary for grade 5 students at Al-Muslim Tambun elementary school, Bekasi. Vocabulary mastery is essential for mastery in order to master four skills in English, which is speaking, listening, writing and reading. There are two variables used in this research; vocabulary mastery as independent variables and ‘Learning Chocolate game’ online game as independent variables. The data used in this research is primary data by gibing pre-test and post-test to the respondents. Data analysis in this study used univariate and brivariate analysis, which consisted of normality test, homogeneity test, and independent sample T- Tests, with IBM SPSS 26. Based on the results of this study, it was shown that teaching using the ‘Learning Chocolate Game’ method could significant effect on increasing vocabulary for elementary school students of Al-Muslim Tambun, Bekasi. Because the data is have significant difference in the everage score. The calculation result show that the experimental class obtained a higher score than the control class 69.12< 56.64 which means that the Learning Chocolate Game is effective in improving student’s vocabulary in the experimental class during the treatment.
