Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyse the kinds of Logic in Disney Moana Movie Script. This research is descriptive qualitative method. Then, the writer uses theory of a notation for simple proposition from Hurford et all (2007) to analyze Logic. The source of data in this research is the Script of Moana Movie. The writer uses some techniques to analyze the data: downloads the movie script from website, classifies the utterances spoken by Moana, segments the sentences from utterances by using segmenting immediate constituent technique (Teknik Bagi Unsur Langsung), analyzes the utterances spoken by Moana to a notation for simple proposition, describes each analysis appropriate by a notation for simple proposition, draws the conclusion of the Logic analysis. The writer has two findings in this analysis, that is simple proposition and compound proposition. There are five types in the analysis namely simple proposition, conjunction, disjunction, negation and conditional. The first type is simple proposition which includes 220 utterances from 285 utterances. Next, the second type is conjunction which includes 33 utterances from 285 utterances. In addition, the third type is negation which includes 33 utterances from 285 utterances. Furthermore, the fourth type is conditional which includes 7 utterances of 285 utterances. Moreover, the fifth type is disjunction which includes 3 utterances of 285 utterances. Furthermore, there is no biconditional in this analysis. In other hand, the notation has combination between two connectives like conjunction and negation, negation and conditional, disjunction and negation. In fact, the notation between conjunction and negation, then disjunction and negation are equivalent.
